Women Interested in the Study of Physics Menotring
WISP members are always eager and ready to share their personal experiences with one another, including those related to courses, professors, research, and work-related issues in their respective scientific fields of study. Considering the fact that new members, especially those taking first and second year introductory physics and astronomy courses, may come into WISP with lots of questions about these sorts of things, this type of discussion among WISP members can be quite beneficial. In fact, this also provides for ready-made study partners! In order to maintain this healthy interaction among WISP members, and continue to provide access to the experience and advice of higher standing members on issues related to the study of science, we sponsor informal presentations of current research by graduate students and faculty, coffee hours to promote student-faculty interaction, and social events that are just fun!
