Abstract:

We report here the first observation of Langmuir films of the buckminsterfullerene epoxide C60-O and the dihydrofulleroid C61-H2, as well as confirmation of previously reported Langmuir film formation of C60. The measured limiting areas per molecule are 96+/-6 Angstrom**2, 94+/-4 Angstrom **2, and 94+/-6 Angstrom**2 for C60-O, C61-H2, and C60, respectively.
