Several important items were discussed at the Chapter's May meeting, which was held Tuesday evening May 8, 2001.
The first one was the "Adopt-A-Stream" project on Pennypack Creek in Montgomery County's Lorimer Park, which is about a mile downstream from The Pennypack Trust. Mike Wilson , the Chapter's project coordinator, presented details of what the project consisted of and the recent contacts with the Fish and Game Commission and Lorimer Park officials. Mike will be organizing meetings and work schedules in the near future. So please check back weekly for news updates.
We discussed the Chapter's next excursion to Penns Creek, which is scheduled for May 18 through 20th. This trip is our highlight to great fishing on the famous Penns Creek. Contact either Dick or Hall McKinny for driving directions.
We finished the evening with putting on the finishing touches on the remaining cane poles for the youth fishing derbies, which will be held in June. George Benson is leading this effort. Nice job to all who pitched in in getting the large number of cane poles in fishing order. Now the kids will only need worms for an exciting day at Kleindienst Pond in Cheltenham Township.
And finally, the latest edition of our Chapter newsletter, "The Streamer", was handed out.

For the third time this year the Chapter is seen here finishing up the cane poles for the youth fishing derbies next month.
